California Public School Ranking: 2010 API Scores

? The database shows the ''base'' Academic Performance Index for California public schools. The API score is based on the standardized tests and high school exit exams taken in spring 2010. That score is then used to compute a school's statewide rank on a 1-10 scale. The database also includes similar school rankings on a 1-10 scale. Those rankings show how an individual school compares with 100 schools with similar demographics, such as student mobility, ethnicity, poverty, English-language learners and class sizes.
